The Dandenong Ranges in Victoria has many awesome wedding venues, each with their own certain charm but gee, it's hard to go past the magnificent Skyhigh Mount Dandenong. It hosts a view of the whole of Melbourne creating that wow factor! And when the weather gods don't favour us with sunny wedding weather, what better than to hold a ceremony in a large glass room warmed by a fireplace creating a heavenly ambience. Graham, the very helpful wedding coordinator of Skyhigh, said he practically has to pinch himself every day to remind himself that he is working there for real.
And the ceremony also had a very warm feel about it. With the families of the couple being very kind and welcoming, there was definitely a happy and fun mood around. One of the highlights for me was when the bride, (who I think looks a little like Rachel McAdams) walked down the aisle, she was joined by her father on one side of her and her step father on the other side of her. Both were as proud as punch but the funniest thing was that when it came time to asking "Who gives this woman to this man?" they did a couple of rounds of paper-rock-scissors to decide who will give her away then decided that they will both say we do..... it was very funny!
And adding to the family stratosphere, the bride's uncle sang for the ceremony while her grandmother read out a wonderful poem. Just like Graham, I am often amazed at how lucky I am to have this wonderful job.comments powered by Disqus
